Science and Literature in china: how come so little in 4000 years.

What do all these have in common. Paper and pencil. A simple alphabet-based language that was easy to learn, write, communicate and understand.
How come there is so little science and literature in china for so so long.

Truth: it has to do with the primative, ugly, barbaric writing system. Not to mention poverty, backwardness and belieft it is the center of the world.
